Our team: Lucie

Hi everyone! It’s lovely to be able to introduce myself to you all here. My name is Lucie Dijksterhuis, I’m 33 years old and was born and raised in Den Burg. My parents moved from Utrecht to Texel in the 1990s, and that’s where I was born. So I can proudly call myself a true Tesselaar. In 2024, my boyfriend Dylan and I bought a fixer-upper in Den Burg – we’ve been through quite a major renovation but are now enjoying it to the full.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to work in tourism. A holiday in Greece was the deciding factor, and that’s how I ended up in the industry. I chose to study Tourism Management and lived in Alkmaar for four years – a really lovely time.

Yet Texel continued to draw me back. During my studies, I did a summer work placement at Camping Kogerstrand, and it turned out to be such a lovely place that I ended up staying there for ten years. I started as an intern and eventually worked my way up to head of reception. It was a time during which I learnt an enormous amount, both personally and professionally.

After Kogerstrand, I made a move into the hospitality industry as manager at Brasserie Quinty’s in De Koog. I had some wonderful years there too, but tourism remained my true passion.

In November 2024, I joined Texelvakanties. What began as carrying out inspections at our beautiful holiday homes at Villapark Buytenplaats and Natuurvillapark Waalerburght soon developed into a role in the office and at reception. And that’s exactly where I feel most at home. As well as dealing with guests at the reception desk, over the phone and by email, I’m currently busy promoting the holiday homes of Texelvakanties and Landhuizen Texel on various booking websites. It’s a lovely challenge!

In my spare time, I enjoy eating out (preferably with a good glass of wine) and travelling. We’ve put our travels on hold for a while whilst the renovation is underway, but we’ve got a lovely trip to Thailand and Vietnam planned for 2026.
